Physical Education Curriculum Narrative Philosophy: Elementary Physical Education provides students with an opportunity to develop the “whole person” through cognitive and physical activities. It is not the intention of the Young World Physical Education Program to develop elite athletes. The goal is to help the students gain proficiency in areas to find personal outlets for enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and social interaction through physical activity. Goals: The student will learn skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities. The student will become physically fit. The student will participate regularly in physical activity. The student will know the implications of and benefits from involvement in physical activities. The student will value physical activity and understand its contribution to a healthful lifestyle.
